In Loving Memory of Ivy ‘Joy’ Prince-Thomas

(January 3, 1948 – September 12, 2025)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Ivy ‘Joy’ Prince-Thomas, affectionately known as Miss Prince, of Colbeck, Old Harbour. She departed this life peacefully on September 12, 2025, after a brief illness.

Joy lived a life beautifully marked by an adventurous spirit and a generous heart. Her warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her, and her vibrant presence brought light and laughter to her family and community. She embraced life with a courage and openness that inspired all around her.

She leaves to cherish her memory her two loving children, David and Odette; her dear sister, Patsy; her brother, Syl; her beloved grandchildren, Olivia and Luke; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and colleagues who will forever feel her absence.

The family extends a heartfelt invitation to friends and loved ones to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived and to celebrate Joy’s incredible journey. After a private cremation, a Thanksgiving Service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Jago de la Vega, Spanish Town, St. Catherine.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the overwhelming kindness, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time.

Joy’s legacy of love and adventure will live on in our hearts forever.
