The dead man has been identified as 35-year-old labourer Collin Haughton otherwise called ‘Lava’ of a May Pen address.

Haughton, the police have reported, was in a bar at Cottage Complex on West Street, Old Harbour when a man approached him with handgun and shot him multiple times in the head and upper body.

He died on the spot.

There is still no clear motive behind Haughton’s murder but investigations so far theorises that he was aligned to the gang and frequents the Bailey’s Avenue and Bucknor communities.

Gangs mimicking national security operations – SSP Phillips

This was disclosed by Senior Superintendent (SSP) Christopher Phillips, commander in charge of the St Catherine South Police Division.

SSP Phillips was addressing a special security meeting with members of the business community of Old Harbour on April 26.

Old Harbour gangster ‘Dutty Shut’ killed

According to the police about 3:00 pm Blake, 46, was on a bicycle in the lane when men alighted from a car and shot him several times before speeding off. He died on the spot. 

His death however is likely to be celebrated particularly by those who would have suffered at his hand.

Commanding officer in charge of the Old Harbour sub-division DSP Damion Manderson said “Blake is a well-known gangster in the Old Harbour area and would have been a constant target of police operations”.
