We are not selling lands in Old Harbour

In a release this afternoon the NLA stated: “The National Land Agency/Commissioner of Lands is advising the public that it has not issued any publication and or statements that lands are available for sale within the Old Harbour, St. Catherine area, and or its environs.”

Old Harbour News understands that word has been slowly spreading on the ground that residential lots in the farmland of Thetford in the district of Church Pen are available for sale via the NLA.
But the NLA said this is not true.

Thetford family lambasts Old Harbour police following raid

Twenty-seven year-old March alias ‘John’, Lamar Newell, 27, and Matthew Simpson, 18, were all taken into police custody following an early morning raid on their homes in Thetford, Church Pen.

Formal charges are yet to be laid against the trio who has been fingered in an alleged shooting recently in the community, a claim the family said is false.

Ronaldo Boyne, 21 years-old and younger brother of Adrian, is claiming that his older sibling is innocent of any wrongdoing and is being setup. Newell and Simpson, it is said, are brothers.

Old Harbour man missing since November 28 murdered

Christian was positively identified by relatives this morning after being contacted by the police following publication in the premier community media outlet.

His body was discovered on November 30 in bushes in Thetford, Church Pen – some 13 miles from his home – but remain unidentified until today.

His feet were bound, his throat slashed and had what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head, Old Harbour News has been reliably informed.

Thetford farmer found dead with multiple chop wounds

He has been identified as 68-year-old Percy Tobias of a Sweetsop Lane, Church Pen address.

His body, which had multiple chop wounds, was spotted by residents at about 6:00 am.

It is understood that Tobais had been complaining of being plagued by farm thieves.

Police theorizes that the elderly farmer may have overnight on the property to find out who was stealing his produce when he was apparently attacked.

Investigation continues.
