The community of Old Harbour was shaken last evening after a brazen gun attack claimed the life of 43-year-old labourer Orace Frankson, more widely known by the moniker ‘Badda Don’.

The incident occurred around 7:00 pm along East Street, in what the police are investigating as a murder.

According to preliminary reports, Frankson was walking along East Street towards Smith Avenue when he was ambushed by a lone gunman. An assailant, described as wearing a dark-coloured hoodie, approached Frankson from behind, brandished a firearm, and opened fire.

Reports are that the gunman fired several shots, causing Frankson to collapse to the ground. The assailant then advanced on the injured man and fired multiple additional shots at close range before fleeing the scene.

The killer made his escape in a waiting white Toyota Axio motorcar, which was seen speeding away in the direction of the Old Harbour town centre.

Police from the Old Harbour operational support team (OST) were summoned to the scene. Upon their arrival, they discovered Frankson, a resident of 6 Smith Avenue, Old Harbour, lying in a pool of blood in the vicinity of 80 East Street.

Frankson was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital by the police team in a critical condition. However, he was pronounced dead on arrival at 8:12 pm.

The St. Catherine Scene of Crime Unit was contacted and processed the area for evidence.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the shooting or the whereabouts of the white Toyota Axio to contact the Old Harbour Police at 876 203 3659 or Crime Stop at 311.
