Residents of the police sub-division of Old Harbour can now enjoy extended curfew hours following an adjustment announced by the zone commander, ASP Romario Rankin.

The new measures, which took effect yesterday, provide more flexibility for movement in Old Harbour and Old Harbour Bay.

Under the updated regulations, Old Harbour will now observe a daily curfew from 3:00 am, allowing for an additional hour of movement compared to previous restrictions.

Meanwhile, Old Harbour Bay will have varying curfew times depending on the day.   Mondays to Thursdays curfew begins11:00 pm, while Fridays to Sundays sees the order comes in effect at midnight.

However, for the Old Harbour Bay enclave of Terminal Road, the curfew has been adjusted to 9:00 pm daily, an hour later than before.

ASP Rankin emphasized that while the relaxation aims to ease restrictions for residents, compliance with the revised curfew times remains mandatory. Security forces will continue to monitor adherence to ensure public safety.

The adjustment comes as part of ongoing efforts to balance crime prevention with the needs of the community, particularly commerce. Authorities urge residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police.
