Renea Taylor has been missing since January 13, 2026.
Renea was last seen on Tuesday, January 13, at about 7:00 am in the Burke Road area, after leaving home dressed in her school uniform — a burgundy tunic with a yellow blouse. However, it was later discovered that she did not attend school that day.
Speaking with Old Harbour News, Renea’s mother, Petrina Abdul, said her daughter showed no signs of distress before leaving home.
“She was fine at home so this is unexpected. She is not the type of person who would just leave home and don’t return. We thought she was going to school like normal, but she wasn’t,” Abdul said.
According to the family, further checks with Spanish Town High School revealed troubling information previously unknown to the family. Teachers reportedly disclosed that Renea had not been attending school consistently, being absent for the entire month of November, present only four days in December, and absent since the beginning of the new school term — a situation her family says they were completely unaware of.
Abdul also disclosed that Renea had been struggling academically and had repeated Grade 7 after falling behind in her schoolwork.
Old Harbour News reached out to the Spanish Town High School for a comment but was unsuccessful.
In another development, the family learned that after leaving home on Tuesday morning, Renea reportedly went to a family member’s workplace, where she changed out of her school uniform into plain clothing. The family later learned from a third party that Renea had gone to the workplace before the family member arrived, and her whereabouts after changing remain unknown.
Renea is described as approximately five feet three inches tall, weighing about 120 pounds, with long, curly dark brown hair and dark brown eyes.
The family is appealing urgently to the public for assistance, as concern mounts for her safety. Their concern was echoed by Renea’s elder sister, 23-year-old Rihanna Taylor, who made a heartfelt plea for her safe return.
“Wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, you don’t have to be afraid. Come home. Your mother and father are hurting deeply, and the entire family is in pain. No one can eat or sleep. Please come home — you will not be hurt, beaten, or cursed. We just want you home so we know you are safe and that no one is taking advantage of you. I am begging you, if not for your family, then for your parents — and for yourself as a young girl. You are loved,” Taylor said.
Anyone with information that could help locate Renea Taylor is asked to call or text (876) 865-8459 or contact the nearest police station immediately. Residents are encouraged to share this information widely as efforts continue to bring the teenager home safely.
