‘No evidence of mental issues’ at this stage, say police in triple murder

The declaration comes as a stunned community grapples with the brutal killings that claimed three family members.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) confirmed it is holding a male relative following the incident, which occurred around 9:10 pm at a family home. The deceased have been officially identified as 32-year-old fisherman Lynval Henry, also called ‘Beh Beh’; his mother, Annette ‘Nin Nin’ Lindo, a domestic helper and vendor; and her cousin, vendor Ingrid Keisha Lindo of West End, Rocky Point.

While the JCF’s official statement notes that a male relative is “assisting investigators” and that no charges have yet been laid, police sources close to the investigation have provided Old Harbour News with a clearer, more harrowing sequence of events.

According to these preliminary investigative findings, brothers Lynval Henry and Daniel Henry, a labourer also of Frazersfield, were at their family home with their mother, Annette Lindo, when a dispute erupted between them. The argument turned deadly when Daniel Henry allegedly attacked his brother with a machete, striking him in the neck and killing him instantly.

Hearing the commotion, their mother fled into the yard, screaming for help. Her cries alerted her cousin, Keisha Lindo, who rushed to the scene to investigate. Tragically, she too was allegedly set upon by Daniel Henry and suffered fatal chop wounds to the neck.

Police sources state that Annette Lindo’s body was later discovered inside the house, also bearing severe chop wounds to the head and neck.

When summoned, police arrived to find the gruesome scene: bodies both inside the home and in the yard. Daniel Henry was taken into custody shortly after.

In a significant development, an investigator told Old Harbour News that, based on initial interviews and background checks, “there is no evidence at this point that the suspect has any mental issues”. The emphasis underscores a deliberate focus on the events and motives of the dispute itself, rather than any perceived psychological condition, as the core of the ongoing probe.

The JCF, in its statement, has launched a full investigation and extended condolences to the families of the deceased, while urging anyone with information to contact the police or Crime Stop.

As formal charges are pending, the tight-knit community of Rocky Point remains in a state of shock and mourning, struggling to comprehend the violence that shattered a family home on a Thursday evening.
