A daring motor vehicle theft turned into a dangerous shootout and high-speed chase in Lennonsville, Old Harbour, early Tuesday morning, leaving police scrambling to apprehend armed criminals.

According to reports, law enforcement officers responded to a stolen vehicle incident shortly after 5:00 am. Upon reaching the location, the suspects opened fire on the police, prompting an immediate response. Despite exchanging gunfire, the criminals managed to flee the scene in the stolen vehicle – a 2016 Toyota Voxy – speeding toward Clarendon.

The officers pursued the suspects, but the hoodlums skillfully evaded capture. Approximately an hour later, the same police unit discovered the abandoned Toyota Voxy along the highway, its engine still running. Investigators are now combing the area for evidence and reviewing surveillance footage to track down the suspects.

Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward as they intensify efforts to locate the armed thieves. No injuries were reported during the exchange of gunfire, but the incident has heightened concerns over brazen criminal activity in the area.

Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
