Old Harbour police investigating man caught on camera

The incident occurred yesterday about 4:22 pm at the Deli Spot Restaurant on South Street when a man in sunshade glasses, sporting a baseball cap, T-shirt, jeans pants and slippers walked into the establishment.

Unbeknownst to the workers who it would appear were around the back at the time, the man quickly seized the opportunity to help himself.

Footage from the company’s CCTV showed the man stretching over the counter to remove a mobile phone which, it is said, belongs to one of the employees. The phone is a Samsung J2. 

The unidentified man is suspected to be a deportee who was released from prison in December following a charge of stolen goods.

Persons with information that could help solve this case are being urged to contact the police.
