World and Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce clocked a stunning 10.63 seconds to smash the national record at the JOA/JAAA Destiny Series now happening at the National Stadium.
Running with a legal tailwind of +1.6 m/s the sprint phenom eclisped her previous personal best of 10.70 and national record jointly shared with compatriot Elaine Thompson.
With the new mark Fraser-Pryce is the second fastest women in history behind Florence Griffiths-Joyner’s world record of 10.49 established in July 1988.
The time sees Fraser-Pryce leading the world 100m form list and will certainly make her the bookie’s favourite to capture gold at the upcoming Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness is among those who have congratulated the 34-year-old on her amazing milestone.
