So loud were her screams, she was admonished by her boss. But the screams became one massive chorus when she exclaimed to her supervisor that her son did not just pass for Wolmer's Boys’ School, but got perfect score in the Ability Task exam.
Weeks later in an interview with Old Harbour News Wee-Ellis, who resides in Nightingale Grove, says while she expected her little boy to do well, the flawless score achieved is a happy surprise.
"I am really excited. I was overjoyed when I learnt he got the hundred. I was over the moon with excitement. And I'm really proud of him," she beamed with pride.
"I feel overjoyed," Janoy commented while admitting he was surprised himself.
A talented student athlete, Janoy represents Marlie Mount Primary in football, Spelling Bee and Math Olympiad. He has been a straight ‘A’ student throughout his primary education making the A-Quest team and the Principal's Honour Roll every year.
He commended his teachers for their role in his exam preparation but believes his ability to resist the urge to spend more time playing video games contributed to his success.
The 12-year-old also had to overcome the huge loss of his grandmother and family matriarch who died in March.
"I told myself that death will always happen so I have to work with it," he said of how he managed not to let her passing affected.
Janoy is calm about the new challenge of high school life at Heroes Circle, but eager to don the maroon and gold colours in football.
He's unsure at the moment what he wants to do in the future, but his mother says he's an all-round student athlete with the right attitude to excel in any field.
"I expect the same, I am expecting great things from him because I know that he can do his work," she said.
Janoy is one of two students at Marlie Mount Primary and Infant to logged perfect score in the national school-leaving exam. The other is head girl Alyssa Evans.
