Murder forces abrupt end to party at Sharper Lane

Old Harbour News understand that workers at the venue were sent scurrying after hearing loud explosions like gunshots and observed a man entering the venue shouting he has been shot before collapsing.

The incident occurred about 8:15 pm, according to the Old Harbour police.

Investigators later identified the deceased as Alfred Wright, alias ‘Gongulie’, a 24-year-old labourer of ‘Africa’ in the community of Burke Road, Old Harbour.

A motive is yet to be established for the killing, while investigators are still trying to ascertain if Wright was attacked by more than one person.
