Eight of the 14 community-based organisations will receive cheques for $2 million each on Tuesday, November 8, at a presentation at Digicel Headquarters in Downtown, Kingston.
The Digicel Foundation launched its call for applications in July of 2022, with over 245 submissions from across the island. The grant funding will go towards sustainable community projects that must benefit people and their communities in meaningful ways.
Digicel Foundation Chairperson, Jean Lowrie-Chin along with the foundation’s CEO, Charmaine Daniels and Community Development Manager, Miguel ‘Steppa’ Williams will handing over cheques to community groups from St. Catherine, St. Ann, St. James, Kingston, St. Thomas, St. Andrew, St. Mary and Westmoreland.
