Old Harbour woman battling rare cancer that affects three in every million people

The future flashes brightly with lots of hope and aspirations for both newborn and first-time mom, who worked as a customer care representative at a call centre. Morris, who resides in Lloyd’s Pen, a tiny community here in southwest St Catherine, haboured big dreams of being there every step of the way for her daughter. Baby Suriyah has made more than a few steps since then, as she now sprints around the home without fear of hurting herself. But while the three-old is making rapid strides in her development, mom Lisa has taken a devastating turn.

Two shot in Old Harbour gun attack

The shooting occurred sometime after six o'clock at the intersection of the May Pen off ramp on South Street.
 


Based on preliminary information from the Old Harbour police, a Toyota Probox taxi with only the driver aboard broke down at the location, causing a queue.  A man driving a Mercedes Benz SUV – said to be a friend of the taxi driver – stopped to give assistance.


While making checks a man approached both men and open gunfire, hitting  them before making good his escape on foot in a northerly direction.

Two men fatally shot in shootout with Old Harbour police

The deceased have been identified as 43-year-old taxi driver Rohan Gordon, also known as ‘Squeeze,’ and 29-year-old labourer Demar Muirhead, alias ‘Teeco.’ Both men were residents of Old Harbour Bay, with Gordon hailing from the ‘Bay Bottom’ area and Muirhead from the ‘Terminal’ neighborhood. Following the incident, two illegal firearms and ammunition were reportedly seized by authorities.

Old Habour residents disgusted with NWC's persistent disruption
