Nine girls and five ‘mothers’ received special treatment from hair makeover, to manicure and pedicure and lots more before being feted later in the evening at a small, intimate reception on the grounds of the hosts on December 17.
This yearly act of goodwill is event that the girls and the administrators at the home – better known as ‘mothers’ – anticipate with plenty excitement.

The project includes 1.1 kilometres of pipeline running from Orangefield Primary to the Orangefield Square. This is a follow up to the Jericho water system which was expanded at a cost of $120 million.
Prior to the improvement project, some 220 residents of the area were receiving little to no water on a daily basis.
Delivering the keynote address at the commissioning ceremony, Minister without portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, Hon. Matthew Samuda encouraged the residents to pay their bills.

Yes, the JUTC has formally added the Spanish Town to Old Harbour to its schedule, just over a week ago, providing commuters with more affordable transportation options.
Two units have been dispatched to its newest route with the 510 route number assigned for ease of reference, according to an official communiqué seen by Old Harbour News.
Valued at over $2 million, the initiative was spearheaded by the company’s internal volunteer program, “Share the Love.”
Volunteers went door-to-door to deliver Best Dressed Chicken care packages to the elderly and indigent, while children enjoyed a fun-filled day with rides, toys and refreshments.
Speaking about the project, Media & Corporate Events Officer at Jamaica Broilers, Anna-Kay Green, expressed how important it was for the company to go into their communities and give back at this time of year.

This ever-growing charitable organization – headed by Donna Moore Stewart who grew up here in Old Harbour – took its latest mission to the St Ann’s Bay Hospital where, yesterday, it gifted mothers on the paediatric ward with care packages to the delight of the staff.

According to information received by Old Harbour News a few minutes before 8:00 pm a police constable was at a family gathering when a man allegedly entered the premises and disconnected the power from the mini sound system.
A scuffle ensued between the man and the officer, it is said.
The man, according to eyewitnesses, went across the road and retrieved a stone before taking aim at the cop. At this time officer pulled his firearm and fired two shots at the man, one of which hit him in the leg.
Recently, the hard-working humanitarian made the journey all the way to the African continent to share positivity, presents and a lot of much needed school supplies that brought smiles to the faces of children in a faraway village many of us have never heard about.
